SHARING SUNDAY’S GOSPEL
WITH PARENTS & FAMILIES
God loves all people equally and invites everyone to share
in his kingdom – today!
This Sunday’s Gospel reminds us that Jesus came to
establish a kingdom. With Jesus’ blessing, his friends are
sent on an urgent mission to all who will listen.
What are they sent to tell the people? They are to
announce the good news of God’s kingdom – to make
present God’s blessing of peace and healing.
Today, the Church invites us all to enter into God’s
kingdom and to help it to grow here on earth.
Everywhere I go I can spread either gossip or peace,
either hurt or God’s healing – the healing which
Jesus brought as he went round the countryside.
I may not be able to heal physically, but I can
spread the healing of peace in my community.
Enjoy your week and help spread God’s love.

THE GOSPEL IN CHURCH
Sunday 6th July 2025
The Lord appointed another seventytwo and sent them out ahead of him,
in pairs, to all the towns and places
he himself was to visit. He said to
them, “The harvest is rich but the
labourers are few, so ask the Lord
of the harvest to send labourers
to his harvest. Start off now, but
remember, I am sending you out like lambs among
wolves. Carry no purse, no haversack, no sandals.
Salute no one on the road. Whatever house you go
into, let your first words be, ‘Peace to this house!’
And if people of peace live there, your peace will
go and rest on them; if not, it will come back to
you. Stay in the same house, taking what food
and drink they have to offer, for the labourer
deserves his wages; do not move from house
to house. Whenever you go into a town where
they make you welcome, eat what is set before
you. Cure those in it who are sick, and say,
‘The Kingdom of God is very near to you.’”
